TROX Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of TROX GmBH in Germany, was honored with the Asian Export Award for commercial building construction under the local champion division at the prestigious Asian Export Awards. The awards, hosted by Singapore Business Review and Hong Kong Business magazines, celebrate outstanding products and services that have significantly contributed to a company’s success in the regional export arena.
TROX Malaysia is a recognized leader in the development, manufacturing, and sales of innovative products and systems designed for the ventilation and air conditioning of commercial buildings, tunnels, and oil and gas facilities. One of its flagship offerings, the TROX chilled beam system, stood out for its unique approach to energy transfer, utilizing water to enhance indoor air quality by eliminating the need to recirculate contaminated air.
The chilled beam system’s groundbreaking design sets it apart from conventional all-air systems. While traditional systems rely on air supply for both fresh air and cooling purposes, the TROX chilled beam system optimizes fresh air supply for occupants and delegates the cooling function to water. This not only results in lower energy consumption but also offers superior thermal comfort with minimal risk of draught.
TROX chilled beam systems are celebrated for their space efficiency and eco-friendly approach to heating and cooling buildings. By using water instead of air for energy transfer, the system achieves higher energy efficiency. Additionally, the design flexibility of these systems allows for efficient office furniture arrangement in open office concepts, leading to substantial cost savings in building construction.
Notable for their minimal maintenance requirements, TROX chilled beam systems boast fewer electrical and moving mechanical parts, ensuring ease of upkeep. The recent success story includes TROX supplying 792 units of active chilled beams and Volume Flow Limiter (VFL) to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). EGAT, as Thailand’s largest power producer and state-owned utility, underscores the system’s application in creating optimal workplace conditions, fostering employee well-being, and achieving sustainability goals.
